Bill Champlin
Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Bill Champlin has spent over five decades at the forefront of American music. Best known for his soulful vocals, keyboard mastery, and evocative songwriting, Champlin is the co-writer of two Grammy Award-winning classics: "After the Love Has Gone" (Earth, Wind & Fire) and "Turn Your Love Around" (George Benson). He first made his mark as the founder of the Sons of Champlin, a San Francisco mainstay blending rock, jazz, and R&B, before becoming one of the most in-demand session vocalists in Los Angeles—recording with the likes of Elton John, Boz Scaggs, and Donna Summer.
Champlin rose to international prominence as a member of Chicago, lending his signature sound to chart-topping hits like "Hard Habit to Break," "Look Away," and "I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love." His songwriting and vocal work also featured in the Tom Cruise film Days of Thunder with "Hearts in Trouble." After departing from Chicago in 2009, Champlin continued his musical journey with solo projects and collaborations, including the formation of Champlin Williams Friestedt. His 2021 solo album, Livin’ for Love, showcases his enduring talent and passion for music.
