Battle of the Bands returns to The Boardwalk with two legendary opportunities on the line. We’re giving standout local and regional bands the chance to earn an opening slot for Pat Travers on Wednesday, January 28th. From blistering blues-rock guitar to hard driving riffs, this icon helped shape generations of heavy music — and this is your shot to share the stage with true rock history.
And the best part is... It's FREE!
All Ages Welcome — Bring your friends and family! If you’re under 21, you must attend with a parent and or guardian adult. Competing bands must be 21+.
We are gratefully accepting donations to support The Aloha Initiative, the non-profit philanthropic arm of The Boardwalk. The Aloha Initiative contributes to the welfare of families, veterans, and pets at risk locally and beyond — spreading community support and aloha where it’s needed most. Harold Car Crash:
Harold Car Crash is a Sacramento rock band formed in 2023 by 4
lifelong friends. Bringing gritty riffs, driving rhythms and unapologetic edge to the stage. Loud and
honest, our sound is as unique as our name.

Lo-Fi Lowdown:
LoFi Lowdown is a Sacramento-based rock and jam-grass fusion band founded in 2021 by Jim Berry, blending bluegrass roots with a high-energy rock edge inspired by artists ranging from Billy Strings to AC/DC. With over 200 years of combined musical experience, the six-piece delivers a raucous, good-humored mix of originals and select covers in a style uniquely their own. A rock-solid rhythm section supports a dynamic lineup of dobro, guitar, mandolin, banjo, and growling vocals, creating a rich and driving sound. Their standout five-part vocal harmonies add a distinctive layer that sets them apart from traditional jam and roots bands. LoFi Lowdown has played extensively throughout Sacramento County and beyond and is set to release their debut EP in 2024.
